>The first thing Lyra remembered was being asleep.
>She slowly awoke to a bright morning sun in a brilliantly green meadow.
>As she opened her eyes and inhaled the first breath of clean, crisp air, it occurred to her that she most certainly did not fall asleep in a meadow last night.
>She began to rise and look around. She was surprised to find Pinkie Pie next to her in a deep sleep.
>Lyra gently nudged Pinkie with her hoof in an attempt to get her up, perhaps finding an answer from her. She muttered something about a sea monkey and snorted.
>"Pinkie Pie?" Lyra began to speak.
>"I don't wanna go to pineapple school..." Pinkie slurred, barely awake.
>"Pinkie, can you tell me where we are?"
>Pinkie gradually got up and began to stretch. She surveyed the area for a bit, before turning back to Lyra.
>"Nope, no idea where we are or how we got here!" Pinkie cheered.
>"You're weirdly upbeat, considering that we're lost in some kind of weird meadow-type area" Lyra said, puzzled.
>Pinkie snorted. "I'm used to it! I usually wake up in strange places after a night of partying, and every night is a night of partying for me!"
>Lyra tilted her head.
>"Well, I sure didn't go to any parties last night, but I'm here, too."
>"Hmm, that is kinda strange! I wonder what happened to get us here?"
>"Well, if we work together, we can figure it out!" Lyra said confidently.
>"We oughta get to work right away, then!" Pinkie said, "Starting with this weird plant!
>She stuck her snout to the ground and plucked out a green plant with her mouth.
>Lyra levitated the plant out of Pinkie's mouth and towards her face, inspecting it.
>"Hey, this looks like a tiny tree, leaves and all!" Lyra remarked.
>Pinkie thought the green mare's observation over for a second before jolting in realization.
>"Maybe the tree isn't tiny at all, but we're super big!"
>"What? That's silly, Pinkie!" Lyra said with an air of superiority. "It'd take all the unicorns in Ponyville to get us big enough to dwarf a tree!"
>"Maybe it's a HUGE prank!" Pinkie said, laughing at her own pun.
>Lyra giggled. "We'll file that under 'maybe'."
>Lyra looked around until she saw a mass of shapes on the horizon.
>She pointed Pinkie towards the mass.
>"I think that's where we need to go!" Lyra stated.
>"It looks like as good a way as any!" Pinkie replied.
>With that, they started towards the rising sun.

>The long, tedious walk began.
>Both ponies made several attempts to stir up a conversation, but most ended with Lyra confused.
>They agreed to wait until they saw somepony else until they tried to talk again.
>After a while, they managed to make out what the mass of shapes was.
>It seemed to be a curiously small city. Other than the fact that it wasn't even close to the size of a bedroom, let alone a city, there was nothing particularly interesting about it that either pony could make out from a distance.
>"Hey! Someone was nice nough to leave this playset for us!" Pinkie exclaimed. She began to gallop towards it, but Lyra stopped her.
>"Wait a sec, Pinkie. As fun as playing in a model city after walking for the longest hour *ever* sounds..."
>Lyra began to have second thoughts. It didn't look like it could be a trap, and whoever owned the city obviously didn't care enough about it to leave it in the middle of nowhere.
>"Disregard that. Let's bounce, Pinkie!"
>Lyra began to prance toward the small city, with Pinkie following behind.
>They reached the city in a heartbeat.
>"Okay," Lyra said, examining the parameters, "You see downtown, and I'll"
>"Eww!" Pinkie interrupted, "There are bugs in this city!"
>Lyra looked down at her side to see that there were little figures scattering at the sight of her.
>She shouted and jumped once she saw that the city was occupied.
>This caused a huge tremor in the city, causing quite a few figures to fall over.
>Lyra's thoughts caught up to her, and she decided that it was best to see what exactly was running away from her.
>"Pinkie! Hold still! Don't hurt the bugs!"
>Pinkie took a hoof out of the city and giggled nervously at herself.
>She looked at the 3 or so red dots on her hoof and wiped them off in the grass, which she finally noticed was quite small itself.
>Lyra lowered her face into the street where a few of the small creatures were getting up from her jolt.
>She chose one of the creatures and picked it up telepathically.
>The creature made a high-pitched screech and started to swing its limbs around in the air.
>Lyra couldn't help but feel guilty for the poor thing, but the guilt was replaced with awe when she saw what it was.

>Lyra pulled back to her normal position with a gasp.
>"Pinkie! Come over here and look at this!"
>"But you told me not to move!"
>Lyra sighed. "Do we have to do this now?"
>"Alright..."
>Pinkie circumnavigated the city while Lyra hovered the creature up to her face.
>The creature panicked at how high it was. For its sake, Lyra focused all her attention on him.
>Pinkie's approaching footsteps shook the world around the tiny specimen.
>Pinkie stood next to Lyra and came closer to see the strange being.
>"That's gotta be the fourth or fifth weirdest bug I've ever seen" Pinkie remarked.
>"Well, it isn't a bug, Pinkie, far from it. This is a human! They're primates that have been said to walk the Earth long ago!"
>"Primates? So they're little monkeys?" Pinkie shouted gleefully.
>The volume of that statement sent the human into a panic.
>Lyra gave Pinkie a piercing gaze. Pinkie felt guilty and decided to lower her voice.
>"You could say that," Lyra replied, softening her expression, "I didn't really expect them to be this small though."
>Lyra slowly brought the human to her ear.
>"Mr. Human? Can you understand me?" she said.
>Pinkie brought her ear closer, too.
>"They're talking monkeys, too?"
>The human, fearing what the massive horses would do to him if he didn't comply, began to choke out a very modest "Yes".
>"Sorry, could you speak up? Louder?" Lyra said.
>"Y-Yes!" the human shouted at the top of his lungs.
>Lyra pulled him in front of her and Pinkie's face.
>"Oh, this is great!" Lyra said, adopting a smile, "Oh, we can communicate! This could mean so much for the researchers back home!"
>Pinkie pushed Lyra to the side to get a better look at her new potential friend.
>"Hi! What's your name?" she said cheerily, but muted to the point where the human could be comfortable.
>"You want to know my name!?" the human replied.
>"Yeah! We can't be friends unless we know each other's names, and you heard my name, right?"
>The human remembered that how the mint monsterhorse called the pink one. In hindsight, the name seemed pretty obvious.
>"Pinkie?" the human shouted.
>"That's right!" Pinkie said cheerfully.
>The human looked over at Lyra. She looked eagerly and gave a warm smile to coax the human into a sense of security.
>He looked back into Pinkie, who was leaning closer.
>The human certainly didn't want to disappoint something that had a face he could comfortably live on, so he caved.
>"My name is ____!"
>Pinkie's face lit up. "Wow! That's a great name, ____! Would you mind telling me about yourself?"
>"Yeah, I'm really interested in your kind, too." Lyra interjected, "We could talk about each other's lives, if you're interested."
>"Well, could I please be put down first?" ____ said in response.
>Lyra obliged, levitating him down on top of an office building on the city's edge and kneeling down to meet him eye level. Pinkie followed.
>____ slowly warmed up to the two ponies. Both parties talked about their personal lives, their daily routine, their places of origin, and quite a bit else.
>Other humans began to gather on top of the rooftops to look up at the spectacle of a man and two 250 foot tall cartoon ponies talking about desk jobs and making pastries.
